   Former Fire Chief Art Hostert passed away on October 30,

   2011.  He was the Fire Chief at Mokena Fire Department

   from 1956 through 1959.  Our condolences to the Hostert

   family.

Mokena Fire Protection District Opens Station 3

The Mokena Fire Protection District opened a third fire station at 10855 183rd Street, Orland Park, IL on December 17, 2010.  This station will provide fire and emergency medical service 24 hours a day seven days a week. The station is staffed with three firefighter/paramedics and will house an engine and advance life support ambulance.   

The first response areas for this station include the areas north and south along the I-80 corridor and areas of Homer Glen located in the Mokena Fire District which includes the Meadowcrest subdivision.  This satellite fire station will greatly reduce response time to all of its first response areas.
