The Mokena Fire Protection District
The Mokena Fire District provides fire, EMS, specialty rescue and fire prevention services to an area approximately 12.5 square miles and 20,500 residents. The District is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago in Will and Cook Counties. The Fire District covers a large portion of the Village of Mokena, small portions of the Village of Frankfort, Village of Orland Park, Village of Homer Glen and unincorporated areas of Frankfort Township.

For Fiscal Year 2020, the total tentative amount appropriated to the Fire District for operations is $6,607,603

Currently, the Fire District employees 34 full-time Firefighters.
I.S.O. FIRE RATING
The District has been awarded a Fire Rating of Class 1 by the Insurance Service Office (I.S.O.). The classification rating scale ranges from 1 to 10 with 1 being the best and 10 needing the most improvement. This makes the MFPD one of 24 Illinois departments and one of 348 nationwide classified as ISO 1. To learn more about ISO, click here:
